Flowsik of Aziatix returns with MV for “The Calling”
Flowsik of Aziatix has made his long-awaited comeback with the release of the music video for his new single, “The Calling,” on March 11th, 2015!
Showing that his time on hiatus has not gone to waste, Flowsik has taken the lead in every aspect of the new song by composing, writing lyrics, producing, and arranging “The Calling.” With his gain of wisdom and growth in maturity as an artist throughout the years as he focused on his passion for music, “The Calling” is an expression of Flowsik’s passion, desire, and unrelenting conviction for his pursuit of music and success as a rapper, writer, and producer.
In his own words, “I’ve come to realize that music to me, is not a job – it’s just who I am, and there is no way I can escape that. I sleep, eat, and breathe music. This song confirms my calling, and I hope it inspires everyone to find their passion, and to pursue it without limits. This specific song is intended to give listeners hope and motivation in whatever they are pursuing. To not be afraid to do it your way, what you feel would be best. (Musically, it reflects that idea because the music that I make is what I believe in, and I feel strongly about it.)”
Born and raised in Queens, New York, Jay “Flowsik” Pak developed his interest in the music industry at a young age, influenced by the hip-hop legends of the 90’s, as well as his 10 years of experience playing the trumpet and baritone horn in concert band, marching band, and jazz band. Starting off as an underground artist releasing mixtapes, his talent did not go unnoticed as he began to feature on artist albums, including JYJ‘s debut album, The Beginning, in the song “I Love You.” Since then, he has gone on to feature on the albums of XIA (Junsu), Brian Joo, Jaejoong, and Hyuna.
After teaming up with Nicky Lee, Eddie Shin, and producer Jae Chong for Aziatix in 2011, releasing their first EP, Aziatix, and first full-length album, Nocturnal, the group has created chart-topping releases, including their EP The Awakening, before signing on to Cash Money Records in 2013. Following a lull in activity since their signing and continuous postponements in their comeback, Aziatix has since parted ways with the record company. However, this gives the members creative freedom and control over their music, with the members now focusing on their individual activities.
With 2015 just starting, Flowsik has a lot planned for his fans, with more upcoming singles and even a full-length album to anticipate. With his last release in summer of 2014 with “Higher Plane,” check out the first of his releases for the year and stay tuned to Koreaboo for more updates on Flowsik and the rest of Aziatix.
