RaNia to promote with first ever official African American member in K-Pop
According to RaNia‘s agency, DR Music, they will be soon making a comeback with a new member, Alexandra who will be the first ever African American female to be an official member of a Korean girl group.
DR Music stated on November 4th KST, “We have recruited female rapper Alexandra as an official member and begin promoting our album soon. This is the first time in K-Pop that a black female rapper has become cast as a group member so we expect this will become a big issue.”
Alexandra was born to an African American father and Caucasian mother in Kansas, USA. She was active under a famous hip-hop label ‘Def Jam‘ ever since she was 15. Def Jam manages famous artists such as Kanye West, Jay Z, Rihanna, and Drake.
She was the female lead in Jamie Foxx‘s “You Changed Me: music video as Chris Brown‘s girlfriend, and has also been active as a model and composer.
Alexandra was preparing her debut in USA when she came in contact with RaNia and became an official member. As a part of the contract, RaNia’s activities in the United States will be managed by Bruno Mars‘ current manager, Scott.
