Jang Suwon, a member of the first-generation K-Pop group SECHSKIES, is mourning the loss of his mother, who passed away suddenly at the age of 68.
The sad news was reported by Vegan News yesterday. Jang’s mother’s wake is currently being held at Gangnam Severance Hospital’s funeral hall. The funeral is scheduled to occur at 7:30 AM on April 29, with the final rites to be held at Sian Family Memorial Park.
His mother’s passing comes at an especially emotional moment for Suwon. Earlier this month, Jang celebrated the 27th anniversary of SECHSKIES. He shared a nostalgic photo with fellow members Eun Jiwon, Kim Jaeduck, and Lee Jaejin on Instagram, marking the milestone.
Jang Suwon, who debuted with SECHSKIES in 1997, is also a newlywed, having married stylist Ji Sang Eun in 2021. The couple recently shared the joyful news of expecting their first child after several IVF attempts. Ji Sang Eun’s heartfelt Instagram message to their unborn child touched many, making her mother-in-law’s death even more heartrending for the family and fans alike.
