“Unpretty Rapstar 2” adding another female rapper to the lineup, Rubber Soul’s Kim
Unpretty Rapstar 2 is returning with 11 contestants yet again despite two recently having been permanently eliminated.
In exclusive news reported by Daily Sports (Ilgan Sports) on October 7th, Rubber Soul member Kim was revealed to have completed recording her first episode for the Show Me The Money spin-off show on the 5th. Furthermore, it was said that Kim received good reviews from the judges.
Kim is from the hip-hop (not idol) female rookie group Rubber Soul under Happy Tribe Entertainment as its lead vocalist and rapper. The trio female hip-hop group – Choi Cho, leader Rara, and Kim– made their debut in February, dropping the title track “Life” featuring hip-hop artist Mad Clown.
Unpretty Rapstar 2 made its premiere on September 11th with 11 contestants including Wonder Girls’ Yubin, SISTAR’s Hyorin, Ash-B, Ahn Soo Min, Heize, KittiB, YG Entertainment trainee Sua, Gilme, Truedy, Kasper, and FIESTAR’s Yezi. On episode 3, female rappers Ash-B and Ahn Soo Min were permanently eliminated from the show and 4MINUTE‘s Jiyoon was welcomed to the show in episode 4, though her addition has attracted mixed reaction due to her underwhelming performance.
With Kim’s confirmed appearance on the all-female rap competition, the stakes remain to be high.
