Netizens discuss: Was Kim Soo Hyun deserving of the Daesang at the “Korea Drama Awards” this year?
With the results of the 2015 Korea Drama Awards revealed, many have begun to question whether the Daesang winner was truly deserving of it this year when one notes his projects.
There’s no doubt that Kim Soo Hyun is one of the most popular and talented male Korean actors in not only South Korea but China as well since playing the country boy but musical genius in the drama Dream High in 2011. He became as popular as ever with the hit drama You Who Came From The Stars in 2014.
However, his only notable drama work for 2015 was the hybrid variety-drama Producer in which he played a rookie variety producer for 1 Night 2 Days, acting alongside Gong Hyo Jin, Cha Tae Hyun, and IU.
Accounting other hit dramas that aired this year including Kill Me Heal Me, many netizens have begun to voice out if this year’s winner was truly deserving for his role or whether other actors should have been awarded it instead.

[+374, -36] 대Of the daesang nominees Yoo Dong Geun, Cha Seung Won, Jisung, Joo Won and Kim Soo Hyun. It would be unfair to say that Kim Soo Hyun’s acting was lacking. But Yoo Dong Geun and Jisung’s acting was ridiculously masterful. They made viewers laugh, cry and even introduced new paradigms of acting. There would have been cries of outrage even if either of them took the award but Kim Soo Hyun…. If they’er going to give out awards like this they should just scrap this.
[+33, -7] I understand if he won it for ‘My Love From Another Star’ but does it make sense that it’s for ‘Producer’? Even if this isn’t a bit award this shouldn’t be happening.
