4 Times K-Pop Idols “Spilled The Tea” On SM Entertainment
K-Pop idols from SM Entertainment sometimes are honest and decide to “spill the tea” on the agency.
Here are 4 of these moments.
1. EXO’s Baekhyun sharing what he learned at SM Entertainment
In an episode of tvN’s You Quiz on the Block, EXO’s Baekhyun talked about some of the things he learned at SM Entertainment.
He shared that during his trainee days, things like greeting and bowing were essential. In Korean culture, greeting and bowing well is seen as a sign of respect and someone with a good personality.
Baekhyun remembered that they had to greet senior artists and other people with a loud voice to leave a good impression!
Baekhyun also shared that SM Entertainment taught them always to be cautious, as there would be people trying to scam them. SM Entertainment also told them to talk with a company representative if they needed help.
2. Super Junior’s Heechul on the concept that SM Entertainment gave him
In an episode of JTBC‘s Knowing Bros, Super Junior’s Heechul spoke about the concept he was given during the group’s earlier days.
INFINITE‘s L shared in the episode that he was given a “mysterious concept” during INFINITE’s early days and was told not to talk or laugh by his agency! Actress Go Ara shared that she experienced something similar to L when she was under SM Entertainment.
I was asked to live like a doll. I was supposed to look and think like a doll. I wasn’t allowed to talk.
— Go Ara
Heechul experienced the same thing, as SM Entertainment told him not to talk because it would break his concept. Heechul shared, “Back when I used to have long hair and dance with the fan, I was in China with Super Junior for an interview.”
The agency told me not to talk so much because it would break my reputation in China as ‘the queen’ of the group.
— Heechul
3. SHINee’s Key sharing what SM Entertainment told him about his weight
When SHINee’s Key joined SM Entertainment, he received a shocking comment about his weight.
In an episode of MBC‘s Radio Star, Key shared that he was told that he was fat when he joined SM Entertainment. This shocked the cast members!
When I joined SM Entertainment, I heard that I was fat for the first time in my life.
— Key
Key was confused by this comment, as when he compared himself to his friends, he didn’t think he was fat.
But when I compared myself to my friends who aren’t celebrities, I wasn’t even considered fat.
— Key
4. Super Junior’s Heechul revealing the type of face that Lee Soo Man loves
In an episode of tvN‘s Life Bar, Super Junior’s Heechul spoke a bit about the type of face that Lee Soo Man, SM Entertainment’s founder, loves.
Heechul shared that Lee Soo Man loves people with a “horse-like image.” Some idols that have this kind of image are H.O.T.‘s Kangta, former TRAX member Jay, and Super Junior’s Siwon.
Heechul then shared that Lee Soo Man makes sure that idols with these visuals are taken care of to look organized and smart!
Heechul even believes that if you have a “horse-like image,” then you will automatically get accepted into SM Entertainment!
