Weeekly’s Jiyoon To Take A Break From Promotions Due To Anxiety Disorder
According to Play M Entertainment, “Weeekly’s Jiyoon has been receiving psychological care by receiving treatment at a specialized medical institution due to symptoms of psychological anxiety that was felt intermittently during her activities.” They continued, “Recently during preparations for the album, she felt a great amount of tension and anxiety, and through in-depth discussions with Jiyoon, her family, a specialist, and the company, we decided that she needed time to focus on recovering her health.”
They also announced that the group would go ahead with promotions without Jiyoon for the time being. “Jiyoon will be taking a break from activities for the time being and Weeekly will be proceeding with new album as a six-member group. We ask for your understanding on this decision as we consider the artist’s health our top priority. We will inform you once again regarding Jiyoon’s return and activities in the future.”
They hoped that fans would understand their decision on this matter. “We would like to deeply apologize to the fans who have concerned about the sudden suspension of the activities during the preparations for the new album and we ask that you refrain from speculation or misunderstanding regarding Jiyoon’s health condition.”
Weeekly will release their fourth mini album Play Game: Holiday, on August 4.
