Sunmi Reveals This Hollywood Icon Inspired The Point Choreography For “You Can’t Sit With Us”
Sunmi‘s most recent comeback, “You Can’t Sit With Us”, has been incredibly well received by her fans and praised for its use of 2000s nostalgia and pop culture references.
While behind-the-scenes at her MV shoot, Sunmi decided to let her Miya-ne in on a bit of a secret about the inspiration behind one of the most iconic moments in this new choreography.
Sunmi revealed that the cute hip pop in the chorus of the song was inspired by none other than Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe!
Sunmi adorably demonstrated the move while explaining that one must “be coy.” She even added her own sound effects to mirror those classic Marilyn ad-libs.
The MV is already filled with many references to classic ’00s films and culture but this adds a reference to the 1950s film, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
Sunmi, being the professional she is, made sure to give credit to choreographer Kiel Tutin who has worked on such iconic choreographies as BLACKPINK‘s “How You Like That” and TWICE‘s “Feel Special.”
