BTS And Jimmy Fallon Reminisce About Their Favorite Memories Together On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”
In episode 8 of The (Getting Back to) Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon and BTS reminisce about the group’s many guest appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and their favorite memories together.
J-Hope began the commentary by saying that they’re always excited to come on the show. RM added, “We always have a blast!”
Jimmy Fallon said that he loves whenever BTS come on the show too. They’re always guaranteed to have a good time with lots of laughter!
We always love having BTS on the show. It’s always a big deal when they come on. They all have different personalities, but every time we get together we’re laughing. It’s always a great time.
— Jimmy Fallon
He did say, though, however, that he’s keeping an eye out for Jimin. While he loves him (that is his bias, after all), he is very suspicious that Jimin would take over as host of The Tonight Show if the opportunity arises. Hmm, The Tonight Show Starring Jimin sounds good, doesn’t it?
Jimin wants to take over the show. I think he wants to host The Tonight Show, so I’m going to do my best to keep the show going so that doesn’t happen. But he’s welcome as a guest anytime.
— Jimmy Fallon
There are many memories of BTS on The Tonight Show, but Jimmy still has a favorite of all. The “BTS week” was truly iconic, but the best night of all in his opinion was when BTS performed inside Grand Central Station.
We’ve done so many fun things. The performance in Grand Central Station is still iconic. They were dancing, singing… [It] was so choreographed. Beautiful, perfect, everything was good.
— Jimmy Fallon
He was amazed by how quickly they pulled off such a detailed performance, including live vocals and vigorous choreography. He truly admires them.
They did it maybe three or four times, and it’s exhausting. Like, wow, these guys really put the work in.
— Jimmy Fallon
The members agreed too that Grand Central Station was a memory that they’ll keep forever.
J-Hope: I don’t think I would ever forget that.
Jungkook: I remember that the floor was slippery.
For Suga, earlier memories like “The Fortnite Challenge” were the most memorable for him. He commented that it “was fun as well.”
J-Hope: Wasn’t that the first time we went on the show?
Suga: Right, the fight time on the show.
Jungkook: Yeah, when we danced.
Jimin enjoyed their recent interviews with Jimmy as they connected virtually. Perhaps, what he enjoyed most of all was playing games like “Dance Your Feelings” as he is a dancer!
Obviously, for Jimmy, he doesn’t see BTS as just guests for his show, but as genuine friends of his. He personally loves spending time with them.
They’re so funny to hang around and talk with and goof off with and make jokes, and I hope they never lose that. I don’t think it’s possible. It’s just in them.
— Jimmy Fallon
J-Hope remembered some more games that they played with Jimmy. The members competed against each other on a subway in New York City. Jungkook agreed with J-Hope that it was one of the most fun games!
Jimin, of course, had to pay some extra compliments to his buddy Jimmy! He recognized that Jimmy actually danced quite well for their “Dynamite” video with The Roots.
Jimmy Fallon is a great dancer!
— Jimin
And, who can forget the delicious meal they all shared? They stopped by Katz’s Deli Pastrami Sandwiches in NYC to both serve and eat some sandwiches!
Jungkook: We also grabbed a sandwich together.
RM: Lots of memories!
Jimmy reflected on their experimental game of “Will It Fit?” While he had to get very messy for the game, he felt it was worth it if BTS had fun.
Most recently, we did a thing called ‘Will It Fit?’ If it will make the boys laugh, I guess I’ll do anything, you know. I ended up stepping into a giant … washing machine filled with nacho cheese.
— Jimmy Fallon
Of course, Jimmy also wanted to give a shoutout to ARMY because he knew that none of this would be possible without them!
I just want to say thank you to ARMY. Jimmy hearts you. Thank you for being the greatest fans. You always go above and beyond.
— Jimmy Fallon
So, now we just wonder about BTS’s next guest appearance on The Tonight Show. Still, no one is looking forward to it more than Jimmy himself.
Like anything they do, they’re going to do something big and something colorful and something fun.
— Jimmy Fallon
Like the true ARMY he is, Jimmy already has a song in mind that he wants them to perform next time. “Fly To My Room” is one of his favorites, and he even started jamming out to it while he talked about it!
If they could come back to perform any song, I would go to ‘Fly To My Room.’ That’s my jam. I kind of love that… It’s just a groove, it’s just a vibe.
— Jimmy Fallon
The episode concluded with both Jimmy and BTS thanking viewers. Jimmy also teased that BTS might be coming back to The Tonight Show sooner than we think! We can’t wait for more memories to be made.
