Adorable BTS “Butter” Cover Kicks Off Jang Wonyoung & ENHYPEN Sunghoon’s New “Music Bank” MC Role
With TXT‘s Soobin and OH MY GIRL‘s Arin ending their year-long stint as KBS Music Bank MCs last week, it’s finally time for the new MC duo to begin. In their first broadcast together, ENHYPEN‘s Sunghoon and former IZ*ONE maknae Jang Wonyoung proved we’re in for a treat with their adorable cover of BTS‘s hit song “Butter.”
Before their cover even began, the pair showed off their stunning visuals in an intro skit. Wonyoung dazzled in a fluffy cardigan and lace-up denim skirt in her all-pink room designed specifically for the performance.
Sunghoon, meanwhile, appeared in an all-blue room wearing a $950 USD Balenciaga shirt with $1,290 sneakers from the brand to match.
When they finally met up on stage, their matching yellow outfits looked perfect together. And, for viewers who didn’t already recognize the instrumental playing in the intro, the bright yellow color was a great hint for the song they were about to perform…
… BTS’s “Butter!” But while the original song had a cool and suave game, the two new MCs gave it a totally adorable, bubbly new twist.
Studying at an English-speaking kindergarten as a child and receiving passing middle school with a perfect score in English at 15 years old, Wonyoung had no trouble with the all-English lyrics in “Butter,” showing off an adorable accent fans have dubbed “Valley Girl” style.
And while Sunghoon isn’t fluent in English himself, you’d never believe it judging by his flawless pronunciation during the performance.
Alongside their precious vocals, the pair had impeccable synchronization to boot, making MC WonHoon’s first stage together nothing short of perfection.
