Stray Kids’ Bang Chan’s Sister Hannah Doesn’t Plan To Become An Idol But Is Making A Name For Herself In Her Own Way
In case you aren’t familiar with the siblings of Stray Kids‘ leader Bang Chan…
Allow us to introduce you to Hannah Bahng.
While some are familiar with her due to her famous brother, Hannah has been making a name for herself in her own right as an online content creator.
Born in 2004, Hannah is 17 years old. She has accounts for Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and now YouTube. Her biggest following of all is her self-titled TikTok, with over 737,700 followers.
She began posting regularly in August 2021 and has quickly gained a following. Her dance video to “Let’s Groove” by Earth, Wind & Fire has 6.3 million views as of October 12, 2021.

She posts a variety of content, such as lip syncs, song covers, and more. Clearly, talent certainly runs in the family.

Just a couple of weeks ago, she started posting on YouTube too. So far, she has just three videos at this time, two vlogs, and a Q&A as she experiments with different styles.
Her last video, uploaded on October 11, was a Q&A in which she answered followers’ questions. She already has over 200,000 followers and is already planning her next video.
Of course, many asked her about Bang Chan. But she said that she doesn’t mind so much, especially because she feels that she is starting to be known as more than that (so true).
I don’t think it’s necessarily like rude to talk about Stray Kids or like Chris, Bang Chan … well, like, to me, or like on my channel as long as like… I don’t want to be stuck with the label of being Bang Chan’s sister, but I think I’m slowly growing out of it like I feel like people are slowly starting to realize like, ‘Oh, s*it! This is Hannah Bahng!’

Many people have followed Hannah on TikTok or another social media platform for her relatable content, only to realize later that she has a famous sibling.
The second most common question is, “Have you ever considered being an idol too?” or does she at least plan to in the future. She explained that she actually did at one time want to, but her plan has since changed.
A long, long time ago, I did want to become an idol, so I don’t want to become an idol anymore. Because I just don’t think it’s for me you know…

This doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to still pursue a career in music. She just wants to be a different type of music artist.
I do still want to make music and produce music and perform music on stage but instead of it being like idol, I want it to be like Conan Gray basically.
— Hannah Bahng
She explained that American singer-songwriter Conan Gray had been a big inspiration for her in creating her own content. She had been looking at his old YouTube videos in which he posted both normal YouTube content as well as vocal covers, so she hopes to do the same.
One of the biggest reasons I opened my own YouTube is like, honestly, Conan Gray.

His YouTube helped him get discovered and ultimately signed to Republic Records. This is now her dream as she hopes to one day be signed by them too. Likewise, Lyn Lapid got viral on TikTok with “Producer Man” and ultimately got signed to Republic Records too.
Hannah hopes to go down a similar path as Lyn Lapid and Conan Gray. She believes that this way, she will have more freedom as a music artist.
In the future, she also wants to collaborate with Conan Gray or ur mom ashley. Honestly, yes, how iconic would that be?!
We definitely see a bright future for Hannah and can’t wait to see what’s next for her!
