Han So Hee Drew Inspiration From These Strong Women In Cinema For Her Role In “My Name”
Netflix’s latest smash hit from Korea is Han So Hee‘s action noir drama My Name, where she stars as a revenge-driven young woman who infiltrates the police force in order to get revenge for her father’s death. The cast and crew described the show as being unique in the noir genre due to its focus being on a woman. For this reason, Han So Hee turned to some other famous women stars from action movies to get inspired for her role.
In an interview with Preview, Han revealed that one of her biggest inspirations was Marvel movies — specifically the character Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson.
I’m a big fan of Marvel pieces. While, of course, Marvel movies are slightly different in genre from our series, but within it there are numerous universes and numerous action scenes so that is something that I drew inspiration from.

As for Netflix originals, Han So Hee turned to Charlize Theron‘s role in The Old Guard (2020), a superhero film following a group of immortal mercenaries seeking revenge. She also looked at Theron’s Atomic Blonde (2017) where she stars as a spy attempting to locate double agents being smuggled into West Germany before the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989.
The female character-led action films were something that I watched a lot to prepare for this role.
