“Girls Planet 999” Eliminated Runner-Up Contestants Share Their Emotional Goodbyes & Hopes For The Future
The finale episode of Mnet‘s survival show Girls Planet 999 is over, which means the winners have finally been decided! Of course, amidst the happiness for those debuting in Kep1er, there’s also an undeniable sadness for those contestants who didn’t make it through after chasing their dreams for months. During the finale, the two contestants who just missed the lineup with ranks of 10 and 11 shared their emotional goodbyes and hopes for the future with viewers.
The contestant ranked 11th overall was 15-year-old Guinn Myah from TOP Media, who received 625,722 points from voters.
Despite drawing in fans with performances of 4MINUTE‘s “Crazy,” SEVENTEEN‘s “Pretty U,” BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez‘s “Ice Cream,” and Team POP!CORN’s “Shoot,” Myah was unable to make it into the final lineup.
After calling out to her fellow contestant, labelmate and beloved unnie An Jeongmin in the audience, Myah gave an adorable goodbye speech that warmed hearts. Keeping positive, bubbly Myah expressed that while she was disappointed not to make it into Kep1er, she was still proud of her rank.
First of all, it’s unfortunate that I didn’t debut, but the rank 11 is such a high one!
— Guinn Myah
Thanking fans, staff, her fellow contestants, and her family, Myah went on to say that she won’t stop pursuing her dream, urging viewers to look forward to her in the future.
Since TOP Media doesn’t currently have an active girl group right now, there’s a good chance trainees Guinn Myah, An Jeongmin, and CAP-TEEN contestant Noh Hyunji could debut together soon.
First of all, it’s unfortunate that I didn’t debut, but the rank 11 is such a high one! I’m so thankful to the Planet Guardians. I’ll always run toward my dream. So please, look forward to me! Lastly, to the staff members and masters, Planet Guardians, and unnies—I love you all! Thank you! Hwaiting! Love you! [Also to] my mom, dad, and oppa.

Meanwhile, Kim Suyeon ranked 10th in the finale, narrowly missing the debut lineup with a score of 650,790 points from voters.
Over the course of the show, she proved her skills with performances of K/DA‘s “Pop/Stars,” EXO‘s “The Eve,” Meghan Trainor‘s “No Excuses,” and Team 7 LOVE Minutes’ “U+Me=LOVE.”
18-year-old Suyeon, a trainee under MYSTIC Story, told fans in her emotional goodbye speech that she constantly doubted her position on the show.
Top 9 is the closest seat to the debut group, but I was located in the farthest seat from the debut group. I didn’t think I was gonna make it in every announcement, and it was always a miracle to me.
— Kim Suyeon
As such, Suyeon found herself grateful to make it to 10th place. As for the future, Suyeon promised to become a “better” version of herself and show viewers just how much more she can improve. She also urged viewers to never forget her.
MYSTIC Story recently announced the full lineup for its new girl group, Billlie, and Suyeon sadly didn’t make the cut. As such, it’s possible she could move to a new agency in the near future to continue pursuing her dream.
Hi, I’m Kim Suyeon from K-Group. Top 9 is the closest seat to the debut group, but I was located in the farthest seat from the debut group. I didn’t think I was gonna make it in every announcement, and it was always a miracle to me. So, I’m just grateful to be ranked as no.10. Although I didn’t make my debut, it’s not over yet! Starting now, I’ll become a better self and show how much I can improve, so don’t you ever forget me, and look forward to my future. I love you!
