SM Entertainment Artists Receive Mysterious “Squid Game” Invitations, Hinting At A Halloween Party
One of K-Pop’s most anticipated events is SM Entertainment‘s annual Halloween party, SMTOWN Wonderland, where dozens of idols dress up for the holiday. Fans have even referred to the event as “the Met Gala of K-Pop” because of how attendees will go all out for this one night!
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the party wasn’t held in 2020. But it looks like there might be hope for this year! Several SM Entertainment artists have posted photos of them with these mysterious Squid Game-inspired invitations. Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon posted pictures of dalgona with the company’s logo on it onto her Instagram story. She wrote, “I’ve been invited.”
And Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon posted a video of herself opening the dalgona tin with the Squid Game theme song!

Red Velvet‘s Seulgi also received an invitation! She posted a picture of the dalgona on her Instagram story and hilariously said that she doesn’t feel confident in doing the dalgona challenge.

Multiple members of NCT have also shared pictures of them recently attempting the dalgona challenge too. Fans thought maybe it could be a hint for NCT 2021, but perhaps they were getting ready for SMTOWN Wonderland!
Videos and photos from inside the venue where the Halloween party might be held have been shared online. The space is completely decked in Halloween-themed decor!

And a netizen who presumably works at SM Entertainment posted a video with the caption, “If I fail this… am I fired?!”

They also shared a picture of the space with the word “FLAT,” referencing the KWANGYA-verse where aespa and their aes are fighting against Black Mamba. The coordinates for KWANGYA are the same as the new SM Entertainment building!
