Seo Ye Ji, Charli D’Amelio, And Crystal Zhang Wore The Same Dress But Served Totally Different Vibes
What do South Korean actress Seo Ye Ji, American content creator and dancer Charli D’Amelio, and Chinese actress and model Crystal Zhang (also known as Zhang Tian’ai) have in common?
Initially, it seems like not much. They’re all talented in their own rights.
They’re also all three stunning…
Still, there’s one more thing. They each have rocked the same dress but served totally different vibes.
The dress in question is a sexy black gown by Alex Perry. It sells for about $4,245 USD, no big deal. With a bustier-inspired top and voluminous yet structured skirt, it’s not one that just anyone can pull off. Yet, all three of these lovely ladies did and still made it their own.
Seo Ye Ji was one of the first to be seen in this black dress. Last October, she graced the Buil Film Awards 2020 red carpet and turned heads in this stunning fit.
Perhaps what made this look so iconic is also the styling. By wearing minimal makeup, a slicked-back parted ponytail, with just some earrings rather than a necklace, everything highlighted and accentuated the dress’s main feature: the low neckline.
Not to mention the dress also allowed for a little leg to be shown too. This dress was the perfect balance of sexy yet classy, which fits her vibe perfectly. Besides, it’s one that we could imagine her It’s Okay To Not Be Okay character to wear as well!
Without question, she broke the internet! And, we can see why.
Chinese star Crystal Zhang, known for roles in I Belonged To You and Go Princess Go, wore the same Fall/Winter ’20 dress but styled it very differently. She wore the dress for the 11.11 Super Show shopping festival in China for Singles’ Day.
With Crystal’s style choices, her focus was not on highlighting the revealing qualities of the dress. Instead, she made her statement with a bold red lip, much different from Seo Ye Ji’s natural makeup.
Additionally, Crystal wore her hair long and flowy across her shoulders with a middle part, also very different from the first styling we looked at. She did, however, wear a few sparkly diamonds that perfectly complimented the solid black dress.
While it’s very different style choices, both women exuded sophistication. Also, can we talk about the train on this dress?!
Last but not least, Charli D’Amelio most recently wore a more updated version of the dress at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for the 10th annual LACMA Art+Film Gala, sponsored by Gucci. “The Queen of TikTok,” with over 128.5 million followers on the app, without a doubt looked like a royal in the ballgown.

She let her hair down for the event rather than rock her go-to ponytail. Styled by Jill Jacobs, she accessorized with diamond and sapphire earrings, rings, and bracelets by S H Ʌ Y J E W E L R Y and KALLATI Jewelry. For the final touch, she carried a Tyler Ellis black satin clutch.
We’re, of course, most used to Charli’s personal laidback “VSCO girl” style of crop tops, sweats, etc. So, the 17-year-old wowed everyone when she appeared in this mature and edgy design by Alex Perry.
As you can see, this dress is a favorite for any star-studded event as it’s versatile for any occasion and person. This is a definite hit whether you want to be a punk princess, a literal queen, or a rich and sexy CEO.
Which styling of Alex Perry’s dress is your favorite?
