Most of us think of BLACKPINK‘s Jennie as an icon, and she recently revealed how people calling her an icon makes her feel.
Jennie has been considered an icon pretty much since she first debuted. She’s a super-skilled rapper, singer and dancer, and she’s very fashionable and gorgeous. It’s no wonder so many people look up to her!
Jennie is the cover star for Elle Korea‘s February 2022 issue, and she opened up about what she thinks of being called an icon in an interview with the magazine.
Of course, Jennie is grateful that people admire her so much and call her an icon. However, when people use the term to refer to her, she does feel pressured to keep showing her best to the public. She said, “It’s really an honor to be inspirational and iconic to someone. When I hear terms like that, I feel like I need to work harder and continue showing the best of me.”
While she admitted to feeling like she always needs to put her best foot forward to keep up with the public’s image of her as an icon, Jennie said she also wants to share her more casual and relaxed sides with the public. She said, “Going forward though, I also hope to share some of the more casual and relaxed sides of me, too.”
