This Is How SHINee’s Taemin Claimed “View” Influenced His Song “MOVE”
SHINee are legends in K-Pop industry, and they will be celebrating their 14th anniversary as a group this May. In their time, they’ve produced tons of incredible music, and have often been ahead of the curve when it comes to K-Pop trends.
One comeback that was particularly ahead of its time was their 2015 song “View.” At the time, house music had not yet been introduced into the K-Pop scene. Additionally, the more casual stage outfits worn by SHINee during this era were pretty uncommon.
The song still sounds as fresh today as if it had just been released this morning. Last year, SHINee went on to MMTG on YouTube to speak with host JaeJae about everything that made “View” so special.
In the episode, the members also mentioned that the song was a departure from the usual SHINee style in the choreography as well. Minho mentioned that while they had always been keeping their dances very tight, they went looser for the first time with “View.”
Taemin then brought up how they weren’t out of breath after performing it, which he initially felt meant that they weren’t giving it their all on stage.
He then revealed that “View” changed his mind in regards to being out of breath at the end of the performance.
And, in the most Taemin way of all time, he smoothly transitioned into saying that this “not being out of breath” factor was what gave rise to the choreography of his own song, “MOVE.”
Of course, his bandmates couldn’t help but groan at this overt self-promotion.
