Remember When NASA Was A LOONA Fan?
What were you up to on August 21, 2017? If you were in the U.S. at the time, it probably had something to do with the total solar eclipse that occurred that day, the first in nearly 100 years to be visible across the whole country.
As the eclipse was such a big event, it received a lot of media coverage at the time. Notably, NASA themselves even made a playlist of songs that were related to eclipses.
Orbits will of course notice Kim Lip of LOONA featured quite close to the top of this list! Over the year and a half prior to their 2018 debut, each member of the group was revealed individually and released a solo track.
As the 6th member revealed, Kim Lip released “Eclipse” in May of 2017. With nearly 13 million views, the music video for “Eclipse” is among the most-viewed of these pre-debut projects.
Clearly one of the interns at NASA was also eagerly anticipating LOONA’s debut! LOONA even tweeted about the inclusion on their official Twitter account.

Just goes to show you that the world isn’t so big after all. Obviously, eclipses bring as all closer together than we realized!
