BTS Jungkook’s Childhood Dream Has Come True In Unexpected Ways
Everyone has wishes and dreams, but sometimes they come true in ways we don’t expect. For instance, that “soulmate” you’ve yearned for might have four legs instead of two…
…or your “dream job” might be a career that hasn’t crossed your mind yet.
Over the years, BTS‘s Jungkook made many of his wishes come true, from becoming a world star to getting tattoos.
In an interview, Jungkook revealed that he once dreamed of becoming Haku, the shapeshifting, flying dragon from the anime film Spirited Away.
First, I wanted to be the boy character from Spirited Away. His name is Haku.
— Jungkook
Jungkook gave two reasons for this; “He is very good-looking and can transform into a dragon. So, imagine how cool it must have looked from a first-grader’s viewpoint.”
Jungkook said, “I was fascinated by him and thought, ‘I must be like him later.'” Who could have known that this fantastical dream would, in some ways, come true?
The little boy who dreamed of dragons grew up to be just as “good-looking” as Haku–even more so, ARMYs would say! Jungkook’s gorgeous visuals have appeared in advertisements around the world, and his name has graced international beauty lists.
Like Haku, Jungkook transforms on stage by becoming another version of himself: Jungkook of BTS. He might not be a flying dragon, but he has defied gravity by flying over fans…
“…imagine how cool it must have looked from a first-grader’s viewpoint.”
How many young ARMYs have looked up at the Golden Maknae and thought, “I was fascinated by him, [. . .] ‘I must be like him later?”
Jungkook has gone from being an admirer to being admired for his incredible talent, larger-than-life performances, and so much more.
