2022 GRAMMYs Host Trevor Noah Spoke Korean In Front Of BTS, And Their Reactions Were Divided
BTS‘s appearance at the 64th GRAMMY Awards was the talk of the town, and for good reason! They impressed with their performance of their hit song “Butter” and interacted with many famous celebrities.
During the show, they were approached by host Trevor Noah, who was eager to ask RM if he really learned English by watching the American sitcom Friends.
RM confirmed it and called the show his “English parents.” Trevor Noah confessed that he also practiced his Korean by watching a K-Drama.
I like that. I heard that, and I was like, ‘I need to learn Korean by watching Korean TV shows.’ It’s a lot harder, but I learned a little bit. I practiced.
— Trevor Noah
Full of confidence, he proceeded to sing a famous line from Netflix‘s Squid Game.
Just a little thing I learned, which was, ‘Mugunghwa Kkoci Pieot Seumnida.’
— Trevor Noah
Everyone who watched the K-Drama would be familiar with the line, which was sung by the doll in the “Red Light Green Light” game!
Immediately, BTS’s V, Suga, and Jin burst out laughing. RM, however, stared at him dumbfoundedly. It’s almost as if he wanted to suggest watching more Korean TV shows!
On the other hand, J-Hope and Jimin couldn’t contain their laughter, with J-Hope even clapping his hands in excitement.
Meanwhile, maknae Jungkook didn’t know what to say. He and RM might have had the same thoughts running through their heads!
The BTS members may have had different reactions to Trevor Noah’s Korean, but they all clearly enjoyed the short interview.
