“Squid Game” Director Working On “Another Controversial Film,” More Violent Than His Netflix Hit
After taking the world by storm with Squid Game, director Hwang Dong Hyuk already has a new project up his sleeve. Speaking at an event in Cannes, France, he revealed that he’s working on a movie with even more violence than his Netflix blockbuster.
Inspired by the writings of Italian philosopher and novelist Umberto Eco, Hwang Dong Hyuk has named the work in progress Killing Old People Club. With a title as strong as that one, the director confirmed that it would be “another controversial film.”
The title that’s currently being used for the work in progress is K.O. Club. Raising expectations, Hwang Dong Hyuk said, “It will be more violent than ‘Squid Game.’”
Keeping the discussion from getting too dark Hwang Dong Hyuk joked that “he might have to hide from old people after the film comes out.” Whatever the director has planned, fans will be looking forward to whatever comes out of Hwang Dong Hyuk’s brilliant mind.
