EXO’s Suho Stole Hearts During His Speech At Stanford University
EXO-L’s who attend Stanford University were in for a treat when EXO‘s leader Suho gave a speech on the Korean Wave (also known as the Hallyu Wave) at the prestigious college today.
EXO’s Suho has been enjoying his travels to the US. In LA, he joined SM Entertainment‘s founder and executive producer, Lee Soo Man, and Girls’ Generation‘s Sunny for the unveiling of SM Entertainment Square. The square in downtown LA is dedicated to Lee Soo Man and SM Entertainment for its achievements in the global music market.
While in California, Suho also joined a panel of accomplished speakers in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Korea Program at Stanford University’s Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center.
Lee Soo Man and Suho were invited to speak on the rising popularity of South Korea’s entertainment industry. Suho shared his first-hand experience with the impact the Hallyu Wave and K-Pop have had on the world.
Suho delivered his speech in English and made sure to mention his love for his fellow EXO members, and thoughtfully credited EXO-L with their success.
“Today I am here as the guardian of EXO and K-pop”
Here not only as the guardian and leader of EXO, but the guardian of K-pop. We can’t express how proud we are for SUHO to be speaking on the Hallyu Wave.

syncronized dance moves is a result of hours of practice & passion. All of our choreos r challenging so dont tell teacher, I sometimes want to runaway, I still have nightmares, jokes aside this only happens when there is synergy from that bond we share #SUHOXSTANFORD @weareoneEXO pic.twitter.com/WfiZWGNRQk

He also garnered attention for his thoughtful answers during the Q&A portion of his panel.
JM: the question that as kpop becomes more global does it lose its authenric color? the way I see it is if its pop music made by koreans its kpop. It'll continue to evolve & draw on previous elements#SUHOXSTANFORD @weareoneEXO pic.twitter.com/SLY1NgDpVv

Junmyeon:someone asked what’s d reason to have a long lasting relationship between fans & K-pop artists.
I think communicating is the important part & also I told you that before. They love our outfits, dance moves & singing but communication is the most important. #SUHOxSTANFORD pic.twitter.com/xDLjyPdB6Z

My baby is delivering whole speech in English, a totally new language he learned in just 1.5 year.
And he is representing K-pop in a foreign land all alone.
Proud is an understatement. I love him so much.
Keep shining my boy 💖#SUHOXSTANFORD@weareoneEXO pic.twitter.com/6HnuTcbzUU— Aina 🌸 (@DeYi_SamYu) May 19, 2022
