Actress Kim Go Eun Showcases Her True Personality By Adopting Dog With Incurable Brain Conditions
Actress Kim Go Eun has showcased her truly kind nature by adopting a rescue dog, despite knowing it had been found to be suffering from incurable brain conditions.
Kim Go Eun is known for her roles in iconic K-Dramas such as Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, which was the most watched K-Drama in 2016, and more recently, Yumi’s Cells.
After the success of the first season of Yumi’s Cells, Kim Go Eun has returned as the lead character in Yumi’s Cells 2. The series follows office-worker Yumi as she struggles with relationships and work, while her ‘brain cells,’ which control different aspects of her (such as hunger, fashion sense, reason, etc.) do their best to get her through it all. Season 2 will see Yumi get into a relationship with coworker Yoo Babi, played by GOT7‘s Jinyoung.
As Kim Go Eun and Jinyoung promote Yumi’s Cells 2, fans have gotten to see their great chemistry. In fact, Kim Go Eun hilariously proved she is totally qualified to become a member of GOT7 when she ‘rapped’ BamBam‘s part in “NANANA.”

But while fans have gotten to see much of her playful energy with Jinyoung, they have now also been given a glimpse at Kim Go Eun’s true personality. An animal shelter recently made an Instagram post detailing the story of rescue dog Wol, who was adopted by Kim Go Eun. Wol was found in the middle of nowhere, starving and wary of strangers. The shelter judged that he was about 6 months old at the time.
As Wol was nursed back to health, the shelter team realized that something was wrong, as he had trouble staying balanced and kept bumping into walls (among other significant health concerns). He often visited the vet at the time.
Later on, he was judged to be healthy again. Yet, an MRI scan revealed he is actually suffering from two incurable brain conditions. The situation is such that surgery would be highly dangerous, so Wol will have to live with these conditions for the rest of his life.
The animal shelter expressed their sadness over Wol’s diagnosis and the struggles he will face with these conditions. But they also thanked Kim Go Eun deeply for deciding to adopt him despite his illness.
Showcasing her true kind personality, Kim Go Eun touchingly commented under the shelter’s post, saying, “I will take good care of him ❤️😍.”
And by the looks of it, she really has been taking great care of Wol!
His physical condition and outer appearance have notably improved since he was first rescued, and he’s been going on plenty of walks and coffee dates, judging by Kim Go Eun’s Instagram.
Kim Go Eun recently posted an update with Wol herself, showing how much she has been showering him with love.
While Wol may be faced with some difficulties with his health in the future, it’s great to know he’s in such good hands!
