These 21 Idols Might Turn 28 Instead of 30 Next Year — Here’s Why
Koreans have traditionally aged differently…
No, we aren’t talking about their youthful appearance!
Koreans have a different way of counting their age.
In Korea, you turn a year older on the first day of the new year. For example, if you were born on December 31, 2019, you would turn one on January 1, 2020.
Although Koreans celebrate their birthdays on the day they were born, their birthdays are relatively inconsequential compared to their birth year.
This means all Koreans are actually a year older than they really are! Koreans for years have complained about their system and have asked for it to be changed to the international metric.
After all, who wants to be a year older?
Well, things may finally be changing for Koreans. The new President of Korea Yoon Seok Yeol promised voters that he would change Korea’s age system once in office.
That means idols who were born in 1994 may either become 30 or 28 on January 1, 2023 depending on whether the President keeps his promise.
Let’s see which idols may or may not turn thirty next year!
