Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun Tests Positive For COVID-19, Music Show Performances Cancelled
On August 9, 2022, SM Entertainment released a statement regarding Girls’ Generation member Seohyun contracting COVID-19.
Hello.
Today, Seohyun has been diagnosed with COVID-19. She has halted all activities and is receiving rest and treatment. Girls’ Generation’s music show schedule(M Countdown and Inkigayo) have been cancelled for this week. We please ask for your understanding.

With this being Girls’ Generation’s first comeback as a group in 5 years, fans were saddened but wished Seohyun a speedy recovery.

On top of this, Seohyun herself posted an apology letter on her Instagram story. She explained how she felt remorse for her fans, never expected to contract the virus, and hoped to meet with them next week.
Although no other members have tested positive for the COVID-19, fans are hoping that they can see the legendary girl group perform on broadcasts next week.
