LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura Picks Which Was More Difficult: The Group’s Preparation Period For Their Debut Versus Their First Comeback
LE SSERAFIM was one of the most anticipated rookie girl groups of 2022. They entered the music scene on May 2 with “FEARLESS,” the title track of their first mini album of the same name.
It was a unique release considering the final list of members was decided only a few months prior to their debut.
The members came from different walks of life and career situations. Chaewon and Sakura, for instance, just ended their time in Produce 48‘s winning group, IZ*ONE.
Kazuha was a ballerina in a reputable institution in the Netherlands.
Yunjin was a trainee in PLEDIS Entertainment who had just decided to quit the idol life.
And finally, Eunchae was a young and new trainee who was last to be put in the group.
Because they did not train together, they did not have much time to get closer to each other before debut. Their preparation period was doubly hard as a result.
Sakura confirmed this in a solo interview with L’Officiel Singapore, saying that it was much easier to prepare for ANTIFRAGILE than FEARLESS.
This was all thanks to their newly improved chemistry as a group which made recording and learning faster this time around.
Our chemistry and sync were on point and the process itself was visibly faster than when we first met and practiced prior to our debut. It really was rewarding for all of us to watch.

They were able to get to this point in just a few short months. The girls went through a tough debut period being scrutinized heavily by the media, bringing them closer to each other behind the scenes.
Our members got even closer to each other, and these connections really showed through when we practiced for this album.

Sakura added that they were working extremely hard to deliver good results. She and the rest of the team hoped that fans would look forward to what they will release as a group.
This is our first comeback ever as LE SSERAFIM, so we wanted to give it all we have. We started working on the album the day after we finished our promotions for Fearless. Our hope was to create a well-prepared stage that is above and beyond the expectations, and I believe we have! So I hope you are all ready for a lot of outstanding stages we have prepared for you!
