BTS’s Jin Reveals HYBE’s Policies For Filming Content That Meant His Appearance On Lee Young Ji’s “My Alcohol Diary” Might Not Have Happened

It was the reason Jin felt so nervous while recording!

After the announcement was first made, ARMYs and netizens have eagerly anticipated the episode of Lee Young Ji‘s My Alcohol Diary featuring BTS‘s Jin. As two stars with such bubbly personalities, it isn’t surprising that everyone was excited from the moment the teasers were posted.

Yet, it seems as if a policy from HYBE might have prevented the iconic collaboration from happening.

As expected, the filming was truly chaotic, and it isn’t surprising that Lee Young Ji couldn’t wait to tell netizens that Jin was her final guest for the iconic series.

Yet, it might not have actually happened, and it’s all because of HYBE’s strict policies when it comes to BTS and recording content.

Even from the start of the video, Jin proved just how observing and efficient the company is when it comes to filming idols. When Lee Young Ji revealed she had a special weapon for the episode, the staff had already told Jin that it was 58%-proof alcohol.

Yet, it seems like HYBE is also very strict when it comes to deciding what content the members of BTS film. At the start of the video, Jin revealed that it had been a long time since he had filmed shootings by a third party, a person not directly associated with HYBE or BTS.

Lee Young Ji seemed shocked as Jin started to elaborate on the fact that when BTS films content, it’s usually done by HYBE, adding, “We normally only participate in the in-house filmings.”

Of course, Lee Young Ji wanted to know more and asked about how often the groups actually do third-party filming. When Jin explained that it was almost never, Lee Young Ji expressed how was grateful she was to have Jin on her channel.

Lee Young Ji: So you never participate in shootings by a 3rd party?

Jin: Almost 99% of the times.

Later in the episode, Jin even revealed that because of the lack of occasions that they had filmed outside HYBE, he was actually nervous when asked why he seemed so “frozen.”

When it came to the details of BTS and third-party filming, it wasn’t completely unknown to Jin, but the idol revealed that it had been some time since they had filmed outside content.

Because it’s been a long time since I last joined shootings by a 3rd party… [The last time was] 5 or 6 years ago.

— Jin

Considering how big BTS are, it isn’t surprising that HYBE has strict policies in place when it comes to allowing the members to film content. Luckily, HYBE seemed to make an exception for Lee Young Ji and allowed ARMYs to witness true chaos.
