Recently a post made by an elementary school teacher went viral on a Korean online community site for presenting a complex case of workplace sexual harassment. The female teacher made a long post asking for help since she was unsure of how to deal with her harasser, who is a 6th grader from her own class.
In the post, she revealed that it had been only two months since she became a homeroom teacher. A male student from her class sent her a sexually explicit message, and when she confronted him, he claimed that he meant to send it to someone else. But the text clearly indicated that he intentionally sent it to her.
Student:I sent my answer already.
Student: Phew! That was hard. Teacher, can I put my d*ck inside your v*gina?
Flustered with the circumstances, the teacher could not decide how to respond to this matter. But she ended up notifying the principal about the incident.
I was sexually harassed by a 6th grader. I’m a woman and the student is a boy. How should I handle this? I called the student and he said he was texting with his friend and sent the text to me by mistake.

I have read all of your comments. It’s only been 2 months since I was appointed as his homeroom teacher. I had no idea what to do so I posted it here. Thank you so much for all the advice and support, it helped me so much.
First of all, I have talked about this with the school principals. I’m not letting this slide easily. Thanks for all the support.

Netizens’ reaction to the post ranged from disappointment to straight-up disgust, with most agreeing that this matter should be revealed to the boy’s parents as well and he should receive exemplary punishment to prevent this behavior from growing any further.
- “There are way too many male elementary schoolers who are outrageous. The normal kids are a minority.”
- “I have nothing to say.”
- “Back in my days, they’d tell the teacher to overlook it as a joke. But I love that they’re responding more seriously.”
- “It’s the end of the world.”
- “Whoa… The solution is to send his parents the message verbatim.”
