BTS Jin’s Enlistment — Everything You Might Have Missed In The First 24 Hours
After nine years of performing on stage, Jin began his mandatory military service. He enlisted in December 13 and will return in 2024.
It’s been less than 24 hours since Jin bid farewell to his BTS members, but much has already happened in ARMY’s “Mikromosmos.” Here’s a recap of everything you might have missed.
Jin’s “Curtain Call”
Ahead of his enlistment, Jin sent one last message to ARMY on the Weverse app. Some idols might have poured their hearts out in prose, but not this comedy king. Gamer Jin left fans with smiles instead of tears by referencing a League of Legends character’s “Curtain Call” ability.
This is your curtain call.
(I wanted to try saying this when I leave for the military.)
(This is what game character “Jhin” says).

The Military Entrance Ceremony
In a statement released before Jin’s enlistment, BIGHIT MUSIC asked fans and media to refrain from coming to the entrance ceremony’s site, out of respect for all recruits and their families.
Hello,
This is BIGHIT MUSIC.
We want to thank you for your continued support of BTS and would like to update you on Jin’s upcoming enlistment into the military.
Jin will fulfill his required time with the military by enlisting in the army. Please note that we will not be holding any kind of official event on the day of his recruitment.
The entrance ceremony is a time to be observed by military personnel and their families only. In order to prevent any issues that might occur from crowding, we ask fans to please refrain from visiting the site. Instead, we ask you to keep your heartwarming words of support and farewell in your hearts.
We also advise you not to get adversely affected by purchasing unauthorized tours or product packages illegally using artist IP. Our company will take necessary action against any attempts at commercial activity making unauthorized use of such IP.
We ask for your continued love and support for Jin until he finishes his military service and comes back. Our company will also strive to provide every support he needs during this time.
Thank you.

At around 1:45 PM (KST), Jin arrived at the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon County of Gyeonggi Province in one of six black KIAs. The other cars were occupied by Jin’s members, who came to see him off.
OT7: From 2013 Until Forever
After the ceremony, BTS tweeted, “Our hyung! Go and come back safely! Love you!” and shared two group photos.
In one, the members posed nicely with Jin for the camera.
In the other, they playfully touched Jin’s newly shaven head. For luck?
Suga’s Military Service
Now that Jin’s military service has started, attention is turning to Suga, the next-oldest BTS member. Ilgan Sports reported that Suga has postponed his military service until the end of 2023 and, due to his shoulder injury, he will most likely enlist as a public service worker instead of an active duty soldier.
J-Hope’s Instagram Post
J-Hope and V were the first two BTS members to wish Jin well on Instagram. J-Hope posted a photo set captioned, “Let’s be healthy and happy hyung!!! I love you!!!”
Two of the photos showed J-Hope and Jin enjoying a delicious meal together. Jin personally prepared the food!
V’s Instagram Post
V has been incredibly busy this week! He returned early from his private overseas schedule to send Jin off then posted a heartwarming clip on Instagram. In the video captioned, “1 2 3, let’s not get hurt,” V and Jin perform in concert as Jin’s “The Astronaut” song plays.
Goodbye, Worldwide Hair!
Jin became a top trending topic when he posted this selfie of his shaved head on Weverse.
Now, a behind-the-scenes clip of the cut is going viral. The video shows Jin’s hairstylist adding the final touches to his new ‘do. The heartwarming caption sums up what ARMYs are feeling right now; “We will wait for you, Jin, we love you.”
