An Interesting Look At Korean VS. Global Viewers Votes For “Boys Planet” Contestants
If you’ve been keeping up with the survival show Boys Planet, you likely have a favorite contestant or contestants you’re rooting for to end up in the final nine-member line-up.
As of the third episode of the show, a couple of contestants — Sung Hanbin, Seok Matthew, and Kim Jiwoong — have been taking the lead and are ranked at the three highest positions. The show is far from over, though, so there’s still time for others to leap the ranks in later episodes!
Recently, some interesting statistics have been shared on an online forum about how Korean and international viewers have been voting for the top 11 contestants on Boys Planet. While there are more global voters overall, it’s apparent that some contestants appeal more to Korean viewers while others appeal more to global ones!
Here’s a look at the difference in votes for the top 11 contestants.
Sung Hanbin, currently ranked first, received 1,043,000 votes from Korean viewers and 2,810,000 from global viewers, making a difference of 1,767,000 more global votes than Korean.
Seok Matthew, currently ranked second, received 838,000 votes from Korean viewers and 2,470,000 from global viewers, making a difference of 1,632,000 more global votes than Korean.
Kim Jiwoong, currently ranked third, received 848,000 votes from Korean viewers and 2,400,000 from global viewers, making a difference of 1,552,000 more global votes than Korean.
Han Yujin, currently ranked fourth, received 924,000 votes from Korean viewers and 1,990,000 from global viewers, making a difference of 1,066,000 more global votes than Korean.
Zhang Hao, currently ranked fifth, received 594,000 votes from Korean viewers and 2,250,000 from global viewers, making a difference of 1,656,000 more global votes than Korean.
Kim Gyuvin, currently ranked sixth, received 783,000 votes from Korean viewers and 1,510,000 from global viewers, making a difference of 727,000 more global votes than Korean.
Lee Hoetaek (Hui), currently ranked seventh, received 478,000 votes from Korean viewers and 1,740,000 from global viewers, making a difference of 1,262,000 more global votes than Korean.
Keita, currently ranked eighth, received 311,000 votes from Korean viewers and 2,030,000 from global viewers, making a difference of 1,719,000 more global votes than Korean.
Jay, currently ranked ninth, received 340,000 votes from Korean viewers and 1,980,000 from global viewers, making a difference of 1,640,000 more global votes than Korean.
Park Gunwook, currently ranked tenth, received 420,000 votes from Korean viewers and 1,430,000 from global viewers, making a difference of 1,010,000 more global votes than Korean.
Kim Taerae, currently ranked eleventh, received 570,000 votes from Korean viewers and 680,000 from global viewers, making a difference of 110,000 more global votes than Korean.
As you can see, the contestants with more Korean votes and a smaller difference between Korean and global votes appear to include Han Yujin, Kim Gyuvin, and Kim Taerae. Those with drastically more global votes, meanwhile, include Zhang Hao, Hui, Keita, and Jay!
