BTS’s J-Hope Explains A Mysterious “On The Street” MV Scene That Caught ARMYs’ Attention
BTS‘s J-Hope filled the music video for “On The Street” with symbolism and meaningful parallels, telling his life story with nods to featured artist J. Cole.
J-Hope announced in February that he officially submitted a request to terminate his military postponement, becoming the second member of the group to do so after Jin.
Like Jin, J-Hope prepared a special musical parting gift for ARMYs, releasing his new song “On The Street.”
J-Hope wrote the track to share his candid feelings toward his fans. The title “on the street” refers to J-Hope’s roots—street dance—from which his dream to become an artist began, and the path the artist and fans will continue to walk together.
We hope that J-Hope’s “on the street” serves as a meaningful gift to everyone who supports the artist…

J-Hope recently released a behind-the-scenes video of the making of his “On The Street” music video and solved a mystery that some ARMYs were curious about.
Like his music video for “Arson,” J-Hope tackled a one-take scene for “On The Street,” and one passing moment in the video caught ARMYs’ attention.
As J-Hope walks down the alleyway at the beginning of the music video, he passes by a memorial where someone is seen placing a yellow flower among other flowers and candles.
Knowing J-Hope’s attention to detail, ARMYs were curious about what the memorial signified, as they are commonly created to honor the loss of life.
On the Street flowers: Blurry but I see chrysanthemum, daisies, and either tulips or lilies.
White mums are a traditional flower of mourning, daisies & tulips represent innocence and hope.
Maybe the alley is life? Birth (the kid), death (this memorial), hope, pain, love, loss? pic.twitter.com/LIitW6kTtF

J-Hope addressed this in the behind-the-scenes video, explaining that the music video intended to capture “all situations that happen on the street.”
For the memorial, it represented “saying goodbye because of unavoidable situations.”
ARMYs already know J-Hope has meaningful intentions behind his creative decisions, and he confirmed the heartfelt symbolism, satisfying ARMYs’ curiosity.
