… Including three pictures of the idol wearing a t-shirt with a swastika.

The shirt features a famous image of Sex Pistols member Sid Vicious, a punk icon known for his “provocative” fashion, including wearing outfits with the swastika symbol. But despite the shirt not being associated with promoting Nazism, many netizens still felt uncomfortable that Chaeyoung was wearing a shirt with the symbol and asked her to delete the post.

Shortly after deleting the Instagram post, Chaeyoung uploaded an apology in both Korean and English to her Instagram. She apologized for not recognizing the meaning of the swastika on her shirt.

Hello, this is Chaeyoung from TWICE.

I sincerely apologize regarding the Instagram post. I didn’t correctly recognize the meaning of the tilted swastika in the t-shirt I wore.

And Chaeyoung also assured fans that she would make sure nothing similar happens in the future.

I deeply apologize for not thoroughly reviewing it, causing concern. I will pay absolute attention in the future to prevent any situation similar from happening again.

Sincerely apologize again.
