Netizens Are Amused At The Shocking Height Difference Between Girls' Generation's Taeyeon & IVE's Jang Wonyoung

It seems these days that K-Pop idols are, on average, taller than those who came before them, with many fourth-generation artists towering over their seniors!

While that height increase can often be seen between younger and older male K-Pop idols, it seems to be the trend for female idols to be taller these days too, and the recent appearance of IVE and Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon on Amazing Saturday is great proof of it.

Depending on the source, Taeyeon’s height is listed somewhere between 158cm to 160cm (about 5’2″ or 5’3″). There are suspicions that she might actually be shorter than that, but that’s the official data.

Meanwhile, IVE’s shortest member, Gaeul, is listed as 164cm (about 5’5″), while their tallest, Wonyoung, stands at around 173cm (or 5’8″). Yujin comes in at a close second-tallest at 172cm (5’8″), while Liz stands at 171cm (5’7″).

When Taeyeon moves to stand beside Liz and Wonyoung during the episode of Amazing Saturday, the height difference between the senior and junior K-Pop idols is quite shocking!

Taeyeon looks adorably tiny next to the “giant babies” of IVE, with Wonyoung appearing to stand almost an entire head above the Girls’ Generation member!

And while it does appear that the IVE members were wearing slight heels, it wasn’t anything too drastic that would have added more than a little extra height to their already tall figures.
