What Nile Rodgers Had To Say About LE SSERAFIM’s “UNFORGIVEN” Will Only Increase Fans’ Excitement

“Wow, this sounds really cool.”

LE SSERAFIM recently released the full tracklist for the upcoming studio album UNFORGIVEN, the group’s first full album. Fans were surprised to see legendary American producer Nile Rodgers among the credits, but the excitement and surprises didn’t stop there. Earlier today, a video of the LE SSERAFIM members greeting and talking to Nile Rodgers on a video call was uploaded on the group’s YouTube channel.

Rodgers has worked on countless incredibly successful songs, a catalog which only made fans more excited for the release of LE SSERAFIM’s title track, “Unforgiven.” The producer has worked on mega-hits such as Madonna‘s “Like A Virgin,” Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky,” David Bowie‘s “Let’s Dance,” and Beyonce‘s “Cuff It.”

The video included plenty of amazing moments, including the girls’ adorable reactions to getting to talk to such an incredible figure of music. Nile Rodgers himself found them super adorable and laughed every time one of them sang him well-deserved praises.

The most interesting part of the video came when Yunjin, the group’s designated English speaker, asked him what he thought about their upcoming title track. She even asked him to share his thoughts during the process of working on the track. To the girls’ delight, Rodgers had nothing short of great words to say, and his reaction is raising expectations for the song even higher.

The producer revealed that the song was so good he stopped working on another record he was in the middle of just to work on LE SSERAFIM’s track!

Honestly, I wake up every day, and I just love playing. So, when I heard the song, I thought it was amazing, and even though I was working on another record, I just said, let me just play through this real quick, just to see what I get.

This took the girls by surprise, and they practically squealed as they thanked Rodgers several times. The producer then explained a bit more about what he tried to add to the song. Rodgers said that while the song already sounded “so cool” to him, he wanted to try and make it funkier.

The first thing I did was decipher the track, and I was like, ‘Wow, this sounds really cool.’ And then I thought to myself, ‘Okay, it sounds finished and complete to me because I loved it.’ Then I just started jamming and started to figure out how do I make it funkier.

Following this, Rodgers even played a few seconds of the song — parts that the fans have already shared on social media. The comments and replies are full of K-Pop fans sharing how much they are anticipating the release, especially after hearing the clips teased by the producer.
