FIFTY FIFTY’s “Cupid” Hit With Plagiarism Allegations — Agency Responds
Rising K-Pop group FIFTY FIFTY‘s agency responded to allegations that the group’s breakout single “Cupid” had plagiarized a Turkish singer.
On April 26, Turkish Singer Evrencan Gündüz uploaded an Instagram reel in which he played FIFTY FIFTY’s “Cupid.” The reel starts out playing the K-Pop song before transitioning to the singer’s own song, “Sen Aşkımızdan,” which he released in 2017.
The singer captions his post by stating that the songs resembled one another.
Fifty Fifty released a great song. Let’s listen together :) But it looks familiar from somewhere…

One news report reached out to a music professional to examine if the songs were plagiarized. According to the professional, although the parts shown on the reel are similar, it’s difficult to say that FIFTY FIFTY had plagiarized the song.
If you break it down, they are similar, but it is hard to say that it’s plagiarism with just this.

Regarding this, a media outlet reached out to FIFTY FIFTY’s agency, who stated that they were currently reaching out to the producers of the song.
We are currently trying to confirm with the song’s producers.

Because the producers of “Cupid” live overseas, the agency stated they would offer an official response at a later time.
