Actor Nam Joo Hyuk, who is alleged to have bullied a classmate, released a statement regarding a viral video alleged to be of the actor’s accuser being forced to spar a classmate. Sparring is the act of two people practicing fighting by exchanging physical blows.
On April 28, Nam Joo Hyuk’s agency, Management Soop, released a statement in which it denied that the actor took any part in the video. The statement’s full translation is available below.
Hello, this is Management Soop.
This is in response to a YouTube video released on April 26 regarding actor Nam Joo Hyuk.
First, we would like to emphatically state that the actor has nothing to do with the sparring video and has never forced or watched someone spar.
The actor learned of the video’s existence in his first meeting with the accuser and verified this. Even if you look at the video, the actor does not appear and shows nothing to allege that the actor had anything to do with it. We express profound regret to the YouTuber that made it seem like the actor had anything to do with the sparring video.
Currently, they are investigating the allegations regarding school bullying. It is always difficult to prove that someone didn’t do something. We ask that until the results of the investigation are released that (news outlets) do not release one-sided articles.
Thank you.

Previously, a YouTuber released a video showing the accuser being forced to spar with a classmate. Nam Joo Hyuk is not seen in the video, but the video seems to contradict a former classmate’s assertion that bullying and forced sparring did not take place in their class.
Stay tuned for updates.
