SM Entertainment Releases Furious Statement And Vows Legal Action In Reaction To EXO Members’ Departures
SM Entertainment responded to a lawsuit from EXO members Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin.
On June 1, SM Entertainment released a statement in which the agency alleged that an outside force was trying to sign their artists from under them.
We found that there was a group who, while we were focusing on our new leap forward, approached our artists and spread misinformation and told them that it was okay to ignore their contracts with us and sign with them.
They are committing illegal acts by spreading misinformation and slanderous rumors to lure our artists into violating their contracts with us and sign double contracts, despite not caring for the artists at all.

SM Entertainment further vowed that they would exhaust all legal measures available against these outside forces.
These acts committed by an outside force are illegal, have created conflict between artists, and are meant to disrupt existing groups.
We will not idly stand by and watch these outside forces who do not care for the futures of the artists or legal rights and are only motivated by greed and money and will take all legal actions available to us.

Earlier, it was reported that EXO’s Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin had filed a lawsuit to terminate their contract. It was then revealed that SM Entertainment had accused Big Planet Made of attempting to poach their artists.
