Last month, Sam Smith revealed the dates for his Asia performances as part of GLORIA the tour. Sam Smith is an artist loved by many Koreans, and it’s no surprise that his concert tickets were sold out immediately.

The original prices for the concert in Korea started with ₩132,000 KRW (about $101 USD) for the cheapest seats and went up to ₩250,000 KRW (about $191 USD) for VIP seats.

However, people noticed that ticket resellers were taking advantage of Sam Smith’s popularity. Resellers put the concert tickets up for sale on reselling and trading apps and websites—and their prices made netizens do a double take; resellers listed the tickets as ₩1.00 million KRW (about $765 USD) and added in the description: “Please contact me.” People speculated that this tactic was to get people to look at their posts based on how many of the prices are listed as “123,456,789 won” instead of a round number.

Other resellers also raised eyebrows by selling tickets for ₩1.00 million KRW (about $765 USD) or ₩2.00 million KRW (about $1,530 USD).

Meanwhile, Sam Smith’s GLORIA the tour concerts will take place at the KSPO DOME in Seoul on October 17 and 18.
