This article was updated with Jellyfish Entertainment’s statement.

Former gugudan member Kang Mina will reportedly leave Jellyfish Entertainment in favor of Story J Company.

According to an exclusive report from Asiae Today, Kang Mina recently decided to leave Jellyfish Entertainment following the expiration of her contract this month after a series of lengthy discussions with the company. Several companies attempted to attract her to their company, but she decided to sign with Story J Company, home to Kim Tae Hee, Seo In Guk, Oh Yeon Seo, and more actors. She will be focusing on her acting activities.

Kang Mina debuted with I.O.I in 2016 before joining Jellyfish’s girl group gugudan for their debut later that same year. She has also shown herself as a versatile actress, including roles in Hotel Del Luna and Cafe Minamdang.

Jellyfish Entertainment has now confirmed Asiae’s report. Story J Company has also confirmed they have met with Kang Mina, but nothing has been officially decided yet.

Kang Mina’s exclusive contract with us expires at the end of June. Both sides have agreed that there will be no contract renewal.
