JYJ’s Jaejoong Reacts To Receiving Congratulatory Flowers From SM Entertainment
Legendary singer and actor, JYJ‘s Jaejoong parted ways with C-JeS Entertainment in April to establish his own entertainment agency iNKODE with former vice president of CUBE Entertainment, Noh Hyun Tae.
Jaejoong recently celebrated the opening of his label, and fans quickly noticed a congratulatory flower wreath from his first company, SM Entertainment, set up outside of his company building.
Jaejoong debuted with SM Entertainment’s legendary 2nd-gen K-Pop group TVXQ in 2003. In 2009, former TVXQ members Junsu, Yoochun, and Jaejoong filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment, calling attention to their excessive contract length and unfair profit distribution between the then-five members. The case was settled with a mutual agreement between both parties in 2012.
Since leaving SM Entertainment, the JYJ members faced additional challenges, including being effectively blacklisted from Korean television broadcasts due to SM Entertainment’s interference with the then-trio’s activities.
As fans pointed out the wreath to Jaejoong, he himself seemed surprised but kept a smile on his face and even posed with the wreath.
💬: Let's take picture

Considering their rocky past, fans were shocked that Jaejoong’s former company provided a celebratory flower wreath and praised the idol’s reaction to seeing it.
LOL jaejoong is better than me, i would have thrown away the flowers of the company who blacklisted my name in the industry in the last 15 years LOL pic.twitter.com/9hyuxIHgHU

It's how jaejoong posed for a picture for his fans alone, like it's an inside joke between jaej and us.. Not for reporters or some random friends that was there… It's so amusing cause like fans knew his history with that company. We've been with him through thick n thin. 🤣🤣🤣

Jaejoong coming out just to pose with the wreath was the petty energy I didn't know I needed. https://t.co/V48b1c13jp

Fans were not lost on the irony that the company that barred him from promoting in Korea was now celebrating the launch of Jaejoong’s own Korean entertainment company.
Many netizens felt that SM Entertainment had other motives in sending the flowers, referencing their current legal situation with EXO‘s Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin.
glad we’re having fun but just so everyone knows this is a very calculated pr stunt for the upcoming exo lawsuit https://t.co/MzIVXkS9ZT

Other netizens are also expressing hope that the flowers were a peace offering and that Jaejoong might be able to return to broadcast for future promotions.
- “What the… He’s still unable to appear on any of the public broadcasting channels’ variety programs, though. Ha. I wonder if things will start looking better for him soon.”
- “Who would’ve thought?”
- “I’m glad they’re getting along well. It’s all a part of how the business world works.”
- “Whoa, LOL. Will he finally be able to appear on the public broadcasting channels now? I want to see him on variety shows.”
- “Wow… This is such an unbelievable picture.”
- “Whoa. Haha. Well done, man. That was an eternity and more. I’d love to see him on music shows now.”
- “LOL?! I think it’s even more mind-boggling BECAUSE it has been so long. These must be from people who worked at SM Entertainment when Jaejoong was also there… Like, can you even imagine? Haha.”
- “JAEJOONG-AH! We want to see you on variety shows!”
Although Jaejoong and SM Entertainment have a troubled history, he heartwarmingly remains close with many of his former labelmates.
