A 77-year-old man has been arrested for cutting off the wrist of his neighbor following a dispute over parking.

According to Gwangju police, on June 22, a 77-year-old man attacked his 55-year-old neighbor with a meter-long Japanese katana.

Reports state the man committed the crime after getting into a verbal altercation with a neighbor whose parked car was blocking his. The neighbor was transferred to the hospital while unconscious from bleeding after losing his wrist.

Police have currently arrested the 77-year-old man under charges of attempted murder. The police stated the man’s sword had been registered with officials and that they were currently investigating the incident further.
