Fans Rejoice As Many Popular “Boys Planet” Participants Depart From WAKEONE

Four trainees are believed to have left since the finale.

Earlier this year, the survival program Boys Planet captured the attention of K-Pop fans worldwide. As the series progressed, fans grew attached to their favorite trainees, celebrating their victories and expressing sadness at their eliminations.

The final group of the surviving trainees, ZEROBASEONE, is set to debut in July as a collaborative effort with Swing Entertainment, just like the preceding group Kep1er.

WAKEONE sent several trainees to participate in Boys Planet as a company, with Kim Tae Rae making the final group. Other popular trainees, like Park Hanbin and Maeda Haruto, reached the show’s last episodes but were inevitably eliminated.

Since the show, fans have kept up with their favorite trainees, eagerly awaiting news of their activities or debut plans. Unfortunately, many have had no word of their future activities, especially those under WAKEONE.

Instead, fans have gotten word of trainees departing from the company, like Haruto announcing his departure in the most unserious way possible.

Anthonny also announced his departure from the company on Instagram, with many signs, like personal social media usage, pointing to Thai trainee Min and Park Minseok no longer being under WakeOne.

On June 22, WAKEONE announced that trainee Cha Woonggi‘s contract had ended. Before he participated in Boys Planet, Woonggi was one of the three former members announced to no longer be in TO1, leading to complaints of mismanagement against the company.

This, combined with the mistreatment many fans say Kep1er often faces and the treatment of ZEROBASEONE’s Ricky, has fans feeling relieved Woonggi (and the others) is no longer in the company.

Fans of Ciipher‘s Keita have also been waiting for updates on the star’s activities after Boys Planet, which you can read more about below.
