The One “Adult” Activity IVE’s Wonyoung Has No Plans Of Doing

She’s happy with her current place.

At a tender age, IVE member Wonyoung has accomplished one after another milestone. She started her career as early as 14 years old after winning Produce 48 and debuting in IZ*ONE. After the group’s disbandment, she went back to being a trainee and re-debut in IVE.

Today, apart from being a member of one of the hottest fourth-generation girl groups, she is also a highly sought-after MC and model for luxury brands. With such an extensive career, there is no doubt that the idol has adopted a grown-up mindset beyond her years.

Wonyoung recently sat down with Cosmopolitan Korea to talk about becoming an “adult” as she enters her 20s (Korean age) this year. She spoke about her various preferences as a grown-up, including her favorite concepts, colors, and accessories. But despite her excitement about becoming an adult, there is one aspect of adulthood that Wonyoung is still not ready to accept.

When one of the questions asked her what she would like to do if she got a driver’s license, Wonyoung surprisingly revealed that she has absolutely no plans to get one. Explaining her reason for this preference, she said there is a high chance that she might get freaked out while driving. So, instead of getting a license, she prefers to “ride in the passenger seat for the rest of my life.”

Question: If you get a driver’s license, where do you want to drive yourself?

Wonyoung: I actually have no intention of getting a driver’s license. I thought I would end up freaking out while driving, so I intended to ride in the passenger seat for the rest of my life.

But then, she took a brief pause to think and said if hypothetically she had to choose a place to drive herself to, she would choose Hawaii.

Wonyoung might be reluctant to road trips where she is behind the wheel, but there is another traveling that she’s all on board for. And that would be time traveling! When the next question asked which year she would like to time travel to, Wonyoung excitedly answered that she would be going to 2026, when she is 23 years old! “It seems to be a very pretty age. I can’t wait for that day,” she said, explaining her answer.
