Jini (Formerly Jinni) Accused Of Intentionally Going Live During NMIXX’s MV Release Time

She also opened a Twitter account at the same time.

One of the biggest and unexpected shocks in modern K-Pop is when Jini (then Jinni) departed from NMIXX without warning back in December 2022. It came less than a year after the group debuted in February earlier that year.

To this day, there still hasn’t been any kind of explanation or reason why she left (or was removed from) the group, apart from it being due to “personal reasons”. There are plenty of rumors and speculations, of course, but nothing has been confirmed.

On April 14 earlier this year, it was announced that Jini had signed a contract with UAP (United Artist Production), where she will be promoting as a solo artist.

While she hasn’t released any music yet, she has been active on social media. In fact, she opened her own personal Instagram account back in mid-March, during the time that NMIXX was just getting ready to release their expérgo album. At the time, people were a little suspicious that the timing was intentional, but others thought it was just coincidental.

Once again, however, she seems to be more active online than usual now that NMIXX is preparing for their next comeback, and some think that the timing seems too intentional to just be a coincidence. Only a half-hour before the group released their music video for “Roller Coaster”, Jini announced that she had opened a personal Twitter account.

Along with this, she also went live on Instagram right around the time that the music video was released, the first time that she’s livestreamed since going solo.

Between the timing that these two events occurred and the fact that this doesn’t seem to be the first time Jini has been promoting during NMIXX’s own promotions schedule, netizens believe that she’s intentionally using the group’s buzz to draw more attention to her own career. Some people are supportive of this apparent method, though, considering it a good marketing strategy from her label.

Jini has yet to announce when she’s going to make her solo debut, but there’s little doubt that something seems to be in the works given her activity on social media. And a lot of her fans are excited to see what she has in store!
