5 Times BTS Were The Kindest Seniors To Other Artists

“Who’d look out for these guys if I don’t?”

The journey from starting with a label that almost went bankrupt to witnessing trailblazing success makes BTS’s career look like a fairytale. But the reality was much harsher for the group. In their new memoir, Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS, as well as in their past interviews, BTS members have honestly talked about how they found it difficult to navigate through music industries without supportive senior figures from the same profession.

But a decade into their career, BTS have managed to become a group that a lot of junior artists look up to. As they interact with these younger idols more and more, fans are starting to realize that every BTS member has become a kind senior who younger BTS would have loved to have by their side.

  1. TXT

TXT were the first juniors of BTS, being only the second boy group to debut under BIGHIT MUSIC. BTS have rooted for their hoobaes since even before their debut. During the 2019 Seoul Music Awards, Jin mentioned their soon-to-debut juniors in an acceptance speech and asked fans to look out for them. He even clarified that the label didn’t ask him to do it, which automatically made it clear how excited he was to welcome his juniors to the industry.

When TXT won the Rookie of the Year award at the 2019 Melon Music Awards, nobody was more excited than V, who jumped out of his seat to celebrate the win.

When Yeonjun and Taehyun appeared as guests on Suga’s YouTube show, Suchwita, they confessed that there is no other senior who takes care of them as much as Suga. In response, the BTS rapper said that after TXT’s debut, all he thought was, “Who’d look out for these guys if I don’t?”

With the two groups getting closer to each other, fans have witnessed many more heart-touching moments of BTS as kind seniors, enough to fill an entire list.

  1. ENHYPEN

ENHYPEN was formed through a survival show called I-LAND, where BTS appeared once as mentors and then again during the finale to cheer for the finalists. Both times, all the members shared encouraging messages and advice with the contestants, already winning the hearts of the young idol hopefuls.

Even after the group’s debut, BTS members have been supportive seniors to the members. In particular, J-Hope has been very encouraging of his juniors and acknowledged their hard work.

  1. SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN and BTS’s relationship has developed more in the past few years after the former became a part of HYBE Labels. Though fans already knew about the friendship between ’97-liners Jungkook and Mingyu, it was a pleasant surprise for them to see the other members of the group interact freely and express their admiration for each other.

During the Suchwita episode where Hoshi appeared as a guest, he quickly built such a genuine connection with Suga that by the end of the episode, Suga took him over to his studio, and the two spent time hanging out there. This gesture meant a lot to fans, given that Suga is known to be very particular about his studio.

Even when Woozi appeared on Suchwita, Suga treated him with so much warmth that by the end of the episode, Woozi was even comfortable enough to make him do his signature pose!

  1. LE SSERAFIM

LE SSERAFIM first interacted with BTS on camera while filming dance challenge videos. Jimin filmed his “Like Crazy” dance challenge with Sakura and Kazuha, and when the girls asked him if he could film a challenge for their comeback later, Jimin enthusiastically agreed. Needless to say, he kept that promise.

J-Hope also shot his “On the Street” dance challenge with Eunchae, and throughout the filming process, he showed soft-hearted consideration for his junior, constantly asking for her opinion and keeping her requests.

  1. NewJeans

NewJeans’ first public encounter with BTS was at a W Korea party. While J-Hope and RM attended as guests, NewJeans were invited to perform at the event. During their performance, the BTS members hyped up their juniors like no other, singing and dancing along to their hits.

After their stage was over, RM also shared words of encouragement with the group.

BTS’s role as supportive seniors is obviously not limited to these specific instances. From RM sharing his juniors’ music on his Instagram to V rooting for ZEROBASEONE’s debut to all the behind-the-scenes stories of kindness that their junior groups shared during interviews or talk shows, all such incidents verify that as seniors, BTS is dedicated to changing the narrative that they had to face during their own rookie days.
