KISS OF LIFE Films A Challenge With A Male Idol Group But Avoids Touching Them At All Costs
On July 5, the new female idol group KISS OF LIFE debuted with the song “Shhh.”
KISS OF LIFE is made up of four members: Julie, Natty, Belle, and Haneul. Before their official debut, the girl group released a pre-debut song called “Bye My Neverland,” as well as solo songs for each member. Their debut music video showcased skills and talents that made it hard to believe they were rookies and a lot of netizens were impressed by their performance.
Of course, KISS OF LIFE started a “Shhh” challenge on social media, where they danced to the choreography of the song. First, they did it by themselves.
Then they danced with Kep1er’s Mashiro…
… and dancer Cha Hyun Seung from Netflix’s popular reality dating show Single’s Inferno 2.
They even danced with three of their security guards.
However, one of their collaborations with a male idol group caught the eyes of netizens because of something they did—or rather, something they didn’t do. In the challenge video, Natty and Julie danced with Ian and Takuma of LUN8.
They each took turns with their respective parts, and when it was time to do the leg-kicking choreography, the two KISS OF LIFE members and the two LUN8 members did not put their arms around each other.
In the original choreography, the members put their arms around each other while they kicked.
They always put their arms around their guests’ shoulders, such as Chanty and Shana from Lapillus…
… and they did it in a friendly way with Cha Hyun Seung, too!
Netizens noticed right away that the reason why KISS OF LIFE and LUN8 didn’t put their arms around each other was most likely to avoid scandals. Some found their “unseen boundary line” hilarious and wholesome.
- “LOL Aw, it’s adorable how they’re trying to minimize controversies by not putting their arms around their shoulders because they’re rookiesㅠ”
KISS OF LIFE’s challenge with LUN8 also circulated around TikTok, and some netizens called the lack of interaction a “rumor avoidance” and “social distancing.”
KISS OF LIFE members also didn’t put their arms around another male idol group: Wei. Natty and Haneul joyfully danced to “Shhh” with Kim Yohan and Kang Seokhwa for the “Shhh” challenge but, again, kept their distance.
It appeared that they didn’t put their arms around each other to avoid any controversy. While many voiced their opinions that KISS OF LIFE members do not need to be this careful, others found the collaboration sweet and wholesome!
