BTS’s Jungkook Admits He’s Been Changing Recently—Showcasing His “Real” Side

Here’s what changed.

BTS‘s Jungkook is one of the most famous celebrities around. He grew up under the spotlight as the youngest member of the group, debuting in 2013 at only 15 years old.

A decade has passed and he’s unsurprisingly not the same person now as he was back then. He talked about this in greater detail in a new interview with Weverse Magazine.

One of the biggest differences about the him of today versus a few years ago is that he’s now much more independent. Jungkook does what he wants, often not asking for permission from his company to do things like talking to fans.

I used to tell the label before I was going to do a Live and get myself ready, but one time I just fired up my phone and did it. Ever since then, I just turn it on whenever I feel like reaching out.

He also cares less about keeping a pristine image. For instance, he even fell asleep in front of thousands of fans while holding a livestream. He wants to become “simpler” which includes doing things without “too much thought.”

That’s because I’m becoming simpler every day. I don’t give things too much thought. I just, you know, keep it casual and share about what I’m up to or what’s happening.

All in all, Jungkook is embracing the “real” side of himself that is more open in public. He’s confident that his fans will love him the way he is, and so he’s not afraid of doing things the way he wants.

I think I can only be the real me when I’m speaking my mind honestly. I feel like I’m changing in a way. Now I think I should do things the way I want to do them. Because, if I do things right, lots of people will accept that, and then I can be more open about the real me.
