SEVENTEEN Members Give A Status Update On Seungkwan Who Has Been On A Hiatus — He Makes A “Surprise” Appearance
Recently, SEVENTEEN members shared updates on member Seungkwan, who has been on a hiatus—turns out he was there when it happened.
Earlier this April, PLEDIS Entertainment announced that Seungkwan would not be participating in upcoming events because he was “feeling unwell.” While the official announcement didn’t go into detail, SEVENTEEN fans understood it to mean that the singer needed time to cope with the recent loss of ASTRO‘s Moonbin. Following the tragic event, Seungkwan wrote a heartfelt message to his good friend.
Then earlier this month, PLEDIS Entertainment made an official statement that Seungkwan will not take part in upcoming events; they shared that he was determined to continue his activities, but the company felt he should focus on improving his health, as recommended by the medical staff.
On July 21, SEVENTEEN held their concert SEVENTEEN TOUR ‘FOLLOW’ TO SEOUL at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome. During the concert, the members shared how grateful they were to the fans who came to their concert. Joshua told the audience that they prepared many fun stages and asked everyone to enjoy the show.
The members also gave a status update on Seungkwan, who did not attend the concert. Mingyu shared that Seungkwan is doing very well.

Then Dino asked the audience to do something very sweet for Seungkwan.
There was a time when I couldn’t perform last year because I was sick. CARATs called out my name then, and it made me really happy. It would be nice if we could do the same for him.

In response, the audience chanted Seungkwan’s name in encouragement of the member—they chanted “Boo Seungkwan” repeatedly.

And although some fans did not all know it at the time, it was later confirmed that Seungkwan attended the concert, and a video of him circulated on the Internet.

According to Mingyu, Seungkwan came to the green room and scolded him for talking too much, too! He said, “Seungkwan is still our Seungkwan.”

The members even left space for Seungkwan when taking a group picture, which melted the hearts of CARATs and showed the loyalty and love between the SEVENTEEN members.
