EXO’s D.O. Gets Real About The Downside Of Having Constant Lineup Changes In A Group
EXO‘s D.O. recently appeared on YouTube channel 1theK Originals for their series “Look Me Up.” He searched his name in various internet platforms to see what fans had to say about him.
One thing they noticed was that he rarely misses a schedule related to EXO even if it means forgoing one of his acting-related activities. This surprised many considering his lead actor status in dramas such as 100 Days My Prince and Bad Prosecutor.
His immediate response was one of conviction. It was a no-brainer for him to prioritize his group as it is his first and main career.
My main job is a singer. I am an actor as well but I’m a member of a group.

He added that one of the things he hates the most is inconveniencing other people. He experienced many times when one or more members either left the group or could not make it to a performance. Because of these lineup changes, the others present had to work doubly hard to cover for them.
What I hate the most is causing harm to others. If a member is missing, the other members will…I honestly experienced it a lot. A lot of things change in the choreography. The routes, parts change and all.
— D.O.
Finally, he ended by saying that he makes a conscious effort as a result of his experience to avoid missing schedules.
I experienced all that myself so I know how much harm it causes to others so although I’m doing two jobs at the same time, I try not to cause harm to others. I make a lot of effort, I worked hard while I was filming.

As proof that D.O. stands behind his words, he missed out on receiving the “Best New Actor” award at the prestigious Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2017 because it coincided with EXO’s concert at the Gocheok Sky Dome.
I was at our concert and the Blue Dragon Film Awards were going on at the same time. I couldn’t attend the Film Awards due to our concert. I totally forgot it focusing on the concert.
