TXT’s Soobin Surprises Fans With His True Feelings About His “2022 Lollapalooza” Performance
Spoiler Alert
On July 30, 2022, TXT became the first K-Pop group to perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago, and they blew away the crowd of MOAs (TXT fans) and locals.
The members shared how impactful the historical performance was on them. In a Weverse Magazine interview in February 2023, Yeonjun credited his experience at 2022 Lollapalooza for further motivating him in his career.
In the US they sang and danced in front of us however they wanted without feeling self-conscious. After Lollapalooza, I really thought I just want to be a massive rock star.
— Yeonjun
MOAs got even more insight into TXT’s thoughts about the performance in the recently released Disney+ documentary, TOMORROW X TOGETHER: Our Lost Summer.
After watching the documentary, MOAs shared support for TXT’s Soobin after the group’s leader unexpectedly revealed he felt isolated after their 2022 Lollapalooza performance.
His fellow members all stated that the day of their 2022 Lollapalooza performance was their happiest day since their debut.
You know, after “Lollapalooza,” I cried so hard in my hotel room. All the other members were saying it was their happiest day since their debut as singers. But I didn’t feel the same.
— TXT’s Soobin
Soobin revealed that he didn’t feel the same way as his fellow members and shared that he wasn’t satisfied with his performance.
He wanted to earn love and support from fans through his performance and felt isolated when he didn’t meet his own expectations.
Well… when there are no dance moves, and I’m supposed to just let go, I can’t seem to enjoy myself and I feel like I’m moving in an awkward way. I’m a singer because I want to perform and earn love and support from the fans. But when I wasn’t getting that, I really felt isolated.
— TXT’s Soobin
The documentary ended with Soobin stating that he doesn’t want fans to leave his side while promising to give each performance his all.
I want to be able to hold on to all of my fans so they won’t leave me. Even though I couldn’t enjoy all of my performances, I always gave my best because I wanted to repay the fans for their love and express my love for them as well. That’s why I worked so hard.
— TXT’s Soobin
Soobin expressed his doubts and raw emotions about the performance, but MOAs rushed to send him encouragement and reassure him that they’ll always be by his side.
this was difficult to watch, but it was also a moment of admiration for someone who gives his entire heart to his people, always wanting to give back. in my head i was screaming "i see you, and i will never leave" soobin, we will always be herepic.twitter.com/amaOQ8AxIH

personally, i have never seen an idol talk about their weaknesses and insecurities as much as soobin does with moas. besides the fact he trusts us so much to show a vulnerable side of him, he’s breaking the image of a perfect “idol” we love you soob 💗pic.twitter.com/IHxITiLwWf
